3 English players in the Bundesliga set to breakout

Young English players have turned their backs on loan moves to EFL Championship and League One clubs in favor of moves abroad in recent seasons. Football fans interested in watching the next big stars in Germany or England can visit this website and wager on the matches taking place in the Bundesliga and Premier League this weekend. Jadon Sancho’s breakout season for Borussia Dortmund in 2018-19 has influenced even more English players to look abroad. Right now, there are three English players competing in the Bundesliga and each could have a breakout season just like Sancho did the last term.

Lewis Baker – Fortuna Dusseldorf
Lewis Baker has been on the books at Chelsea since he was a kid. The midfielder joined the west London club in 2005 and turned pro nine years later. A host of loan deals sent him out to EFL Championship teams including Sheffield Wednesday, Middlesbrough, and Leeds United. Baker also spent time in the Netherlands at Vitesse. English football fans can visit these bookmakers to get the latest odds on the Premier League or Bundesliga matches coming up this weekend.
Now 24, Baker was loaned out once again this season landing in the Bundesliga with Fortuna Dusseldorf. The Germans have an option to buy Baker next summer although his Chelsea contract won’t expire until 2022. Baker has already appeared in three of Fortuna Dusseldorf’s four matches in all competitions.

Jonjoe Kenny – Schalke
After loan spells at lower league English clubs Wigan Athletic and Oxford United, Everton’s Jonjoe Kenny joined Schalke in the summer of 2019. Schalke are the perfect club for a young footballer as they have developed some fantastic stars over the years.
Schalke produced players such as Mesut Ozil, Joel Matip, Manuel Neuer, Leroy Sane, and many more stars. Kenny can use the experience of playing in Gelsenkirchen to improve and return to Everton as a polished player.
The right-back appeared in Schalke’s first three matches of the 2019-20 season and notched a goal. It is a brilliant start to life in Germany and Kenny could parlay that into a career back at Goodison Park starting next season.

Reece Oxford – Augsburg
Reece Oxford made his West Ham debut at the age of 16, yet it seemed the club gave up on him not long after that. After a 2017 loan to Reading, Oxford moved to Borussia Monchengladbach where he appeared seven times across two loan spells. The Foals were fans of Oxford but were never able to reach a permanent deal with West Ham. Oxford returned to West Ham in the summer of 2018. However, Manuel Pellegrini had no plans for him and Oxford was soon off again. He landed at Augsburg where an initial six-month loan was turned into a permanent deal in the offseason.
The 20-year-old defender has bags of potential and it could be Augsburg that gets it out of him. He has already appeared in two Bundesliga matches for the club this term.
